Jihadi mindset of our ruling Class.

Since creation of Pakistan our ruling class always used religion symbols as a tool to unite and keep an identity of Pakistani state on religious basis not on ethnic nations identities despite Pakistan is multi culture and multi language state in which different multi ethnic identities are living since centuries and  before  creation of Pakistan .
Its dilemma that despite sheer warning by Pakistani founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah  don’t  mix religion with political affairs of state, Pakistan first Prime Minister Liquat Ali Khan  officially indoctrinated religion role in state affairs and shaken the foundation of Jinnah dream to run affairs  on secular basis  .
Pakistan formative phase leadership since creation of Pakistan did historical blunder in their decision making to run affairs of new born baby state on religious basis and hypocrisy of British last imperial viceroy Mountbatten and hardliner congress leaders Valli Bhai Patel  and Nehru  treachery and not stopped bloodshed during partition further pushed Pakistani formative phase leadership to seek help from religious ideology and strengthen role of  religion to unite new born baby state nation  on religion ideology.
Pakistani pre partition Sindhi feudal lords Muslim league leaders, late Syed Ghulam Murtaza Syed (GM Syed) stalwart of formative phase leader of Muslim league was involved in Sindhi Muslim riots and Urdu speaking salart class who after depriving from privileges of state after Mughal Empire played a key role fomenting religious hatred and wanted an independent state on two nation theory rather keep a secular identity in Pakistan.
Pakistan is still in search of an identity and still ruling elites fail to do nation building of Pakistani people as a nation and rather bringing genuine reform in state structure  Pakistani ruling class both civilian and military leaders mix state interest with their own corporate interests and to  pro long their rule .
Pakistan Muslim league during formative phase of Pakistan was popular party among Sindhi and Urdu speaking ethnic nations.  Punjabi who later dominated in decision making of state affairs, majority of their political class was in unionist party but when congress announced land reform they joined Muslim league and when Marxist leader Choudary Iftakhir emphasized upon land reform he was sacked by top leadership of Muslim league that time.
After getting independence and mostly in decision making of state affair our ruling elites preferred and made decisions which caused division further among people of country.
Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah during visit to East Pakistan when declared Urdu as a national language, Bengali Muslim protested it and kept their identity on language not on religion and later got independence from Pakistan on Bengali  language basis . Disintegration of eastern wing of Pakistan from west wing was lesson for our rulers comprise on feudal, civilian and military bureaucracy but they could not learn lesson from history and trace our history with an identity of religion and glorify Arab Muslim ruler who plundered and looted wealth of sub-continent and never came in sub-continent to spread philosophy of Islam of last messenger Holy Prophet Peace Be Upon Him.
After gabrlitar operation failure, Ayub Khan military dictator handed over power to another military dictator Yahiya Khan and after Ayub departure, he promised to hold free and fair election. According to Pakistani historian and writers like late Eqbal Ahmed and other an independent writers that Yayaha Khan secretly supported Jamat-e-Islami and other conservative religious parties and funded their leaders to rig the election and military dictator was confident that neither Bhutto/ Mujeeb nor other secular parties will win election. Pakistani military class including clergy, feudal and bureaucracy were not ready to accept mandate of Awami league after Indian intervention  Awami league in bloody civilian  war got freedom from west Pakistani leaders .
After defeat in  east Pakistan,   military  had decided to transfer power to Bhutto civilian leader and founder of PPP who founded political party on slogans of Roti Kapra and Mukan (Bread, Cloth and Shelter) but after getting power  ZAB continued  legacy of his predecessor ruling elites of Pakistan and galvanized religious role in state affairs and shown appeasement to clergy class especially Jamat-e-Islami   demands further incorporating role of Jihadi mind in state internal and external policies.
It was civilian leader late Zulifqar Ali Bhutto who indoctrinated Jihadi role in foreign affairs of the country and invited Afghan religious leaders , Ahmed Shah Masooad , Gulbdian Hakmatyar and trained and funded them against Afghanistan ruler Dawood government . Late ZAB was victim of his own policies and he nominated Jihadi mind hypocrate general as army chief of Staff  and bypassed other senior military officers and later same Jihadi mind military dictator hanged him and later continued his mission further strengthen role of  Jihadi mind in state institutions and further polarized Pakistani nation on sectarian and on Jihadi mindset .     Zia-ul-Haq military dictator Jihadi mindset has deep roots in Pakistani society and in state intuitions and later when he was died in mysterious airplane crash our ruling leaders continue his legacy of Jihad and when PPP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto came into power she failed to bring any change in Jihadi mindset of our state and when she tried to follow her own policy she termed as a  security risk for country.
Defender of Zia-ul-Haq legacy not only compelled her to continue Zia Jihadi mindset policies and further strengthen Jihadi culture and nor PPP slain chairperson nor popular Punjab base leader Nawaz Sharif or so called enlighten military dictator Perveiaz Musharraf who had ruled on eight year brought up any fundamental change in Jihadi mindset of our state  .
After post cold war era Pakistani ruling class dominated by security establishment continued legacy of Zia and never run affairs of state on rational decision making nor strengthen pluralistic democratic values and to do nation building of state on secular basis and giving legitimized rights to their own people enshrined in the constitution.
9/11 was a great opportunity for liberal military dictator Perveiaz Musharraf to take bold decision but his hypocrisy and lust of power like secular late Bhutto to prolong his rule further strengthen role of Jihadi culture and took cosmetic steps and did not bring genuine reform in state structure to contain menace of Jihadi culture in state affairs.
Today Jihadi forces are great danger for security and integrity of the country and due to non coherence policies of ruling class both military and civilian they are attacking on army installations, educational institutions, killing army jawans, officers, innocent people and wants to impose their own obstructive and outdated tribal ethos on name of religion .
Dilemma with our ruling class that they always deceived their own masses and never implemented pro people development policies , today religious extremists groups are gaining popularity among poor people and middle class people because of ruling elites failed to provide them justice, economics equality, health, shelter and education and protection of their lives and properties and war cannot alone win with simple military strategy.
 End.

Bhutto’s PPP and Zardari PPP.

Sindhi feudal lord Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto who was foreign minister in Cabinet of military dictator field marshal Ayub Khan in cold war era after 1965 war with India quit Ayub cabinet and in 30 December 1967, formed progressive pro Islamic socialist party, Pakistan People Party.
After Gribltar operation which was a cause of indo-Pak war and Indian retaliation and attack on Pakistani soil and functional inequality and Tashkent declaration forced military dictator to step down and transferred power to another military dictator Yahiya Khan.

Genius and shrewd Sindhi ethnic back ground politician Zulifqar Ali Bhutto in cold war era emerged as a popular leader among poor masses of the country especially in rural areas and in urban areas among educated left inclination youths, labour class and peasantry.

Zulifqar Ali Bhutto was emerged as an anti imperialist leader and a new hope for labours and poor people of the country and he founded party on the slogan of Bred Clothing and Shelter and in 1970 election in West Pakistan, masses rejected Jamat-e-Islami and pro establishment political parties , in Sindh and Punjab provinces PPP emerged as winning party
 .
He was most gifted political leader in history of Pakistan that the country had ever produced and he had authority on world political history and beside Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other prominent pre partition Sindhi political leaders , after post partition Bhutto was brilliant Sindhi politician never produced in history of Pakistan .
Sindh has history of producing brilliant politicians, poets, lawyers not warriors like other provinces of Pakistan who strengthen Pakistan integrity despite Sindh received coffins of their beloved political leaders.
The Awami League emerged as the single largest party in the National Assembly by winning a majority with 160 seats, and also won 288 of the 300 East Pakistan Assembly seats in the provincial elections that were held simultaneously there. The Pakistan People’s Party dominated in West Pakistan, winning 81 of 138 the seats there.
The more conservative parties performed poorly, possibly due to the number of conservative candidates competing with each other in most constituencies. In total the PML (Qayyum), PML (Council), PML (Convention), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Jamiyat Ulema-e-Pakistan and Jamaat-e-Islami won only 37 National Assembly seats. Powerful western Pakistani politicians , elites and security establishment refused to hand over power to Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rahman who emerged as a winning leader in East Pakistan and after bloody civilian war and Indian intervention Pakistan lost its eastern wing. .
After shameful defeat and surrender in 1970 war, Bhutto was invited by security establishment to take reign of power and Bhutto elected as first civilian chief marshal ZAB inked Simla accord with Indra Gandhi and released ninety thousands war prisoners .After independence of country from British Raj , Zulifqar Ali Bhutto was first powerful civilian leader who with consensus gave 1973 constitution and in cold war era after Pakistani army defeat in 1970 war , ZAB had decided to protect to protect boundaries of Pakistan and decided to make nuclear bomb as a deterrence against hostile neighbor giant power India to ensure the integrity of Pakistan from foreign aggression .

Bhutto redesigned Pakistan foreign policy and he had maintained cordial relation with neighbor countries, NAM countries and sole super powers United State, USSR and also with Arab world.
Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto in cold war era emerged as third world country leader who not only strengthen demoralized army and during his regime Pakistan decided to make nuclear bomb with financial support of Arab nationalist leader of Libya late Muammar Gaddafi .Former PM during his regime brought major changes and introduced land reform but never implemented in its real sprit to end primitive mode of feudalism in Pakistan and factories, schools and insurance companies and shipping companies nationalized.

Political pundits and historian termed late ZAB Bhutto egoistic and shrewd politician who had toppled NAP government in Balochistan and paved way for military intervention in Balochistan.
He imprisoned his political opponents and refused to pay deaf hear of his own party committed socialist leaders who wanted to bring genuine reform in state. Political scientists made responsible ZAB for Afghanistan Jihad inviting and trained Afghan Islamic party leaders Ahmed Shah Masooad, Gulbdian Hakmatyar to counter Pakhtoons nationalism in the province. Bhutto party loyalist and supported refuted historian claim and argued that after East Pakistan debacle Bhutto wanted to use as a bargaining diplomatic chip against Daud Khan Afghan ruler to end dispute of Durand Line with hostile Afghanistan.

According to Dr Farhan Hanif Siddqui, in Balochistan Marxist nationalist leaders who were inspired from socialism during cold war era and former chief minister Attullah Mengal and former governor of Balochistan late Mir Ghouas Bakash Bazenjo introduced genuine land reforms in Balochistan.

It was blunder of Bhutto regimes dethroned elected government of NAP in Balochistan and imprisoned his political opponents and failed to implement Land reform in the country.

According to Sindhi Marxist historian late Dr Feroaz Ahmed, Bhutto was not a revolutionary leader but when first time poor masses who daily insulted by feudal lords, sardars and businessmen when Bhutto imprisoned their same class leaders and their sons and daughters and wives, poor people excited and first time in political history of country a ruling class autocrat leaders insulted his own class who daily insulted and imprisoned poor peasantry and labour class.

Tariq Ali son of famous Marxist journalist son of Mazhar Ali in his book The Duel Pakistan on the flight path of American power wrote that on one occasion in Larkana home town of Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto peasants leaders and activists met with Bhutto and for an hour they reminded about the promises he had made and not kept and how PPP landlords leaders were not interested in implementing any reform. Late PM heard them out and then asked, “Now tell me this and be completely honest. Can you think of any other PM who would have met you and sat quietly listening to your complaints?. During cold war era and due to his anti imperial stance late Bhutto regime was toppled by military dictator. According to Tariq Ali military coups in Pakistan are rarely , if ever organized without the tacit or explicit approval of the United State . Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto treachery on nuclear issue was the principal reason why the United State gave green light of his removal. According to late Dr Feroaz Ahmed, despite PPP during ZAB regime did not bring major structural reform to empower poor people of the country, poor people loved Bhutto and in 1977 election PPP would easily win election. Military dictator after toppling elected PM government he was scared from Bhutto popularity and reluctant to hang him.
In 984 after execution of Bhutto Sindh was epicenter of Movement of Restoration for Democracy and late military dictator crushed political movements with iron fist. Notorious military dictator to weaken political movements met with late GM Syed hardliner Sindh nationalist leader who in pre partition was founding member of Muslim leagued but later made difference with Jinnah and during MRD when Sindhis in rural areas of the country lashed and imprisoned in jails great leader of sub-continent GM Syed had supported Zia-ul-Haq.
Rossal Bakash Palejo and Fazal Raho, Jam Saqi left inclination Sindhi leaders supported MRD movement and united and led movement in each nook and corner of rural Sindh.
According to late Dr Feroaz Ahmed In cold war era when Bengali got freedom from west Pakistani powerful elites , Sindhi middle class especially young student university leaders too much inspired from Bengali nationalist movement and under leadership of GM Syed united for liberation of Sindh.
Sindhi ethnic background late ZAB who was a true Pakistani nationalist leaders offered jobs and other privileges to those student leaders who inspired from GM Syed ideology and mostly got jobs and privileges and say goodbye to late GM Syed .

Late Dr Feroaz Ahmed said that anti personal Bhutto enmity with sardars, feudal lords and businessmen and clergy class whom Bhutto imprisoned and insulted compelled military dictator Zia-ul-Haq to hang Zulifqar Ali Bhutto. United State supported agitation against Bhutto regime Wali Khan nationalist leader of Pakhtoons, Sindhi feudal lords late Pir Pagaro, Punjabi feudal lords and bourgeoisie class of Urdu speaking and clergy class joined hands with security establishment led by notorious military dictator Zia-ul-Haq.
Former military dictator who was darling of United State and western block during cold war era in Nebraska university curriculum of religious seminaries of Pakistan drafted and United States poured dollars and extremists Islamic ideology incorporated in at state level in Pakistan to fight with godless Russian empire in Afghanistan and suppressed voices of democratic forces and imprisoned PPP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and her mother Nusrat Bhutto.
According to former ISI head Hameed Gul it was MRD movement pressure which compelled military ruler Zia-ul-Haq to announce election on non party basis and to please Sindhi masses another Sindhi ethnic background PM who was follower (Mureed) of Late Pir Pagaro Mohammad Khan Junejo elected as a prime minister in result of non party basis election.
After Post partition and one united regime of Ayub it was first political movements of Sindhis in which Sindhi educated middle class, peasant’s class and feudal class like late Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi and leftist inclination Sindhi leaders fought bravely against military dictator.

Zia had adopted dual policy to contain MRD movement influence in urban centers and MRD was popular in urban city Karachi among leftist class and Zia after weaken PPP strength coined MQM and also sought support of anti Bhutto elements and late GM Syed and other Sindhi famous feudal lords.
When last general of communist party, Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev brought reform in Russian empire and decided to pull out their forces from Afghanistan, late PM Junejo inked Geneva accord.
Despite a weak civilian PM Junejo not only invited PP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto in round table conference to seek political support for Geneva accords and other political parties leaders to end war in Afghanistan .

Late Junejo not only curtailed military budgets but defied military dictator on foreign policy issues and later he was dethroned by military dictator Zia-ul-Haq.
End of cold war era Zia was died in mysterious crash in Bahawalpur and his death paved a way for general election in the country. According to former ISI head Hameed Gul it was decided by security establishment to support Nawaz Sharif to counter PPP led by late Benazir Bhutto.
PPP slain chairperson to get power comprised with powerful security establishment of the country and after passage of two years PPP slain government was dissolved by President Ghulam Ishak Khan a former bureaucrat from Pathan ethnic background on corruption charges especially because of her spouse Asif Ali Zardari.
PPP slain chairperson refuted charges and argued that her government was dissolved because she wanted to formulate an independence foreign policy towards its neighbors India and Afghanistan and her stance and invitation to late Indian late PM Rajeev Ghandi irked power establishment of country .

In 1993 PPP came into power again and PPP slain chairperson was elected Prime minister and after passage of three year, and after tragic assassination of her brother Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto, her own elected President from party Farooaq Leghari dissolved PPP government on charges of corruption and extra judicial killing took place during her regime in Karachi. PPP slain chairperson refuted allegations and accused on anti democratic forces were involved in killing of her brother in clod blooded assassination outsider his residence.
Fatima Bhutto, niece of former PPP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto and daughter of late Shaheed Murtaza Bhutto alleged that her aunt spouse was involved in her assassination but PPP Shaheed chairperson defended her spouse Asif Ali Zardari and charged that remnants of Zia involved in assassination of late Mir Murtaza Bhutto .
Her spouse after dethroned of her government imprisoned in jail on charges of corruption and murders framed against her and spouse during regime of former PM Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif established accountability bureau under Saif-ur-Redman and political pundits criticized on PML (N) leader accountability procedure to victimize political opponents.
Late PPP chairperson preferred self exile and from London run party affairs till she inked deal with military dictator Perveiaz Musharraf who in a military coup captured power and remained a powerful military ruler after , 9/11 events which shook the world , first time in history of United State after her independence attacked by non state actors on her soil .
After living in exile PPP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto with support of United State and British and United Arab Emirates inked deal with Pakistani security establishment when she realized that lawyer’s movements weaken military dictator Perveiaz Musharraf rule. PPP slain chairperson who was extremely bold and wanted to lead party in election announced by military dictator.
Her welcome after self exile not only shaken Perveiaz Musharraf but also her critics, thousands of thousands people especially from interior Sindh gathered on 18th October 2007 despite more than 300 hundred party workers of PPP martyred in a suicide attacked on PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto .
She was emerged a true leader who not only exposed military dictator holding rallies in NWFP , in rural areas of Sindh , Quetta and she openly challenged religious extremists and military dictator Perveiaz Musharraf .
On December 2007 after end of addressing party rally, she was assassinated and its tragic history of Bhutto family that her father hanged, brothers were assassinated and her assassination resulted end of Bhutto dynasty from political landscape of Pakistan .
Her spouse Asif Ali Zardari who during military dictator Perveiaz Musharraf era inked deal with him and gone to abroad and released from jail, after her assassination PPP leadership had gone into hands of Zardari family.
Asif Ali Zardari after end of Bhutto legacy nominated his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a party chairman according to will of her slain wife Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and elected himself as a party co-chairman . Benazir Bhutto death not only deprived party from charismatic and bold leader but sitting PPP leaders despite remaining in power facing crisis how to get support of masses especially in strong fort of PPP in interior Sindh in upcoming election .
One can difference with Sindhi feudal princes Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Pakistan People Party founder Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and their policies but her worst enemies and party workers remembered them due to their love with masses especially poor rural areas of Sindh.
Non Sindhi academicians, termed PPP founder leader ZAB and her daughter Benazir Bhutto champions and defenders of rights of Sindhis ethnic nation in Pakistani federation whom both with their political wisdom created Sindhi middle class and guaranteed their rights in Pakistani state which ruled by other ethnic groups especially , Punjabis , Urdu Speaking and Pashutan and empowered them .
Today after four years rule in country by PPP led government under accidental party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and unwise decision taken unilaterally without taking senior leaders of party and passed controversial Sindh local Government Ordinance 2012 and badly failed to bring drastic change in strong PPP fort in interior Sindh. Party vote bank and popularity jolted and history would tell PPP accidental leadership that Bhutto’s are still alive mind and heart of Sindhi masses because of their matchless loved with poor masses and never sold their strong fort voters interests but always protected their interests.

End.

Hastily passed new LG law damages PPP’s popularity in Sindh.

Sindh Peoples Local Government Act 2012 recently passed by Provincial Assembly o Sindh has damaged popularity of Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) in its strong hold in rural and urban areas of Sindh among Sindhi speaking voters.
The PPP led by President, Asif Ali Zardari after tragic assassination of its lifetime slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto won election in Sindh province with thumping majority and nominated the old party guard Syed Qaim Ali Shah as Chief Minister of Sindh. The PPP leaders visited Nine Zero MQM headquarters to make reconciliation with the urban base party in Sindh. The PPP and MQM were political rival parties but after President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to 90, a new reconciliation policy to bridge the gap between rural and urban areas of Sindh started.
The dilemma of the PPP was that after judicial murder of Zulikqar Ali Bhutto, powerful security establishment never accepted PPP under the leadership of her brave daughter Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. When Benazir-led PPP won election in 1988, Sindhis-Mohijar ethnic conflict was systematically supported by anti-democratic forces and polarized the relations between the peace loving communities.
The PPP strongly believes in federation of Pakistan and the party has roots in four provinces but after judicial murder of Zulikqar Ali Bhutto anti-democratic forces especially after post-Zia era contained  PPP vote bank strength in its urban centers especially in Lahore and in Karachi.  The PPP never got majority from Karachi in elections and only won elections from Lyari and Sindhi and Pashutan speaking constituencies of Malir, Kemari and majority of Urdu speaking in urban areas always preferred to cast vote against anti-PPP. Earlier, the PPP was popular among left inclination people of the metropolis but with creation of MQM in 1980s, the PPP won elections from those consistencies in which Baloch and Sindhi people are in majority.
The PPP from its foundation to post-Benazir Bhutto tragic assassination won elections from rural areas of Sindh and also from urban centers of Sindh where Sindhis are living in majority.
Majority of Sindhi believe that Sindhi feudal political class during the partition era supported Muslim League and Sindh Assembly passed a resolution in favor of creation of Pakistan but during formative phase of Pakistan, they could not benefit from state orientated policies and further turned into minority after migration of Urdu speaking from India to urban centers in Karachi and Hyderabad and Sindhi Hindu middle class migrated from Sindh province of Pakistan towards India.
Sindhi believe that the PPP is sole political party to protect their cultural, economic and demographic interests and always supported it despite they paid heavy price of supporting PPP. Being an indigenous people of Sindh province of Pakistan they have more constitutional rights to run affairs of Sindh province and benefits from its resources.
Sindh big land holding class which is prime beneficiary from revenue generation from crops doesn’t have interests in uplifting and development of their poor masses and not investing their surplus income on their constituencies’ development. The same issue is prevailing in urban centers of Sindh in which urban bourgaize class is benefiting from state perks and privileges and majority of poor masses don’t have education, shelter, health and their lives are not safe.
Eight-year military rule of Pervez Musharraf and its unplanned revolution, flawed reconciliation policy continued by President Asif Ali Zardari, bad governance and lack of commitment and will to serve masses, and lust of power further alienated Sindhi educated urbanized middle class from PPP who always prefer to caste vote for PPP.
In rural areas where majority of people living not benefiting from state policies because of presence of primitive mode of feudalism and the state’s strange approach to development and welfare of their own citizens.
The PPP which always won election with people’s support does not have roadmap for uplifting and development of poor and vulnerable people of Sindh.
The MQM strongly believes in uplifting of their own ethnic people’s interests but it never took bold steps to win heart and mind of people of Sindh and only do rhetoric against feudalism and its policy towards other ethnic communities was based on prejudice.
It’s strange that Sindhis who are living in their land from thousand years their sons and daughters don’t have right to get education in State-run educational institutes in Karachi and they feel alienated in their own Sindh province of Pakistan.
The MQM, which strongly believes that they are guardian of middle class never protects rights of other ethnic communities’ poor and vulnerable labour class people and always prefers to protect rights of feudal class and in Karachi protect rights of bourgeoisie class not the poor and vulnerable Urdu speaking labour class which are facing same issues as faced by vulnerable Sindhis, Siraki, Baloch, Punjabi and Pashutan.
In civilized and mature democracies, rural and urban models have different local bodies models and powers should be transferred from center to province and provinces to districts but issue with post colonial states like Pakistan is that none of rulers took pro-people development steps to empower people at grassroots level and never took sincere efforts to resolve genuine issues faced by Pakistan after birth from colonial rule of British.
The ruling elites through their myopic policies used local bodies as a shield to prolong and legitimize their own unconstitutional rule. As a result, the people are suffering from their flawed policies and its further eroding writ of state and further weaken state to protect constitutional rights of people.
The current elected government of PPP to remain in power in haste passed Sindh Peoples Local Government bill in Sindh Assembly.
The Sindh Assembly which is legislative body of people of Sindh province did not witness any debate on Sindh Peoples Local Government bill by the PPP or MQM. Furthermore, the both ruling political parties also did not seek suggestions from their own political coalition partners namely PML ( F), ANP, and NPP.
The problem with sitting political class of Pakistan is that they strongly believe to protect their own petty interests and never done legislation to empower people of this country. And the ruling elites’ political decisions and blunders only reduce their say among  people just like the PPP’s top leadership unilateral decision damage its own vote bank in its own stronghold of Sindh.

End.

Pak needs a paradigm shift in its foreign, security policies.

Attacks on United States, sole super power on 11 September 2001, shook the world. As a result of these attacks  by non-state actors on US soil in its history, former President of United States George Bush warned at that time, “you are with us or against us.” This warning compelled Pakistan military dictator Pervez Musharraf to make a new alliance and partnership with United State to fight war on terror against Al-Qaeda and followers of extreme brand of religious extremist groups.
Pakistani secular and moderate military dictator Pervez Musharraf after attacks on United State was in catch 21 situation and decided to wage war against religious extremists’ organizations and Taliban supporters who were considered “strategic assets” by the security establishment.
Musharraf, the architect of Kargil war in his television address raised slogan, “Sab Say Phely Pakistan” (Pakistan First) and waged war against religious extremists and Jihadi groups who were nurtured by western powers and the ruling elites in cold war era and later further strengthened by the military dictators to prolong their rule and achieve short term foreign policy strategic goals.
Musharraf’s dual policies further pushed and drifted Pakistan into religious extremists. He failed to take genuine and bold steps to eradicate religious extremism from Pakistani society and made electoral alliance with the religiou parties. With his support and patronage,  the MMA, a group of religious parties formed and their leaders were given full support from the regime to incorporate religious extremists’ views in state institutions. The MMA formed government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa afer winning general election.
Musharraf’a strategy was to kill and capture foreign militants who were affiliated with Al-Qaida but he did not formulate a long term strategy as to how to cope with home-grown sectarian and religious parties which had shaken the foundation of Jinnah’s Pakistan.
The former military dictator’s dual polices to combat with religious fundamentalism and old cold war security paradigm further encouraged the extremists groups to strengthen their roots in masses and challenge writ of state and Jinnah’s secular Pakistan.
In foreign affairs, the military ruler took bold steps and started confidence building measures with its hostile neighbor India and brought paradigm shift in Pakistan’s Kashmir policy but failed miserably to seek long term solution of Kashmir conflict.
Pervez Musharraf’s initial two years after military coup d'état were considered golden years of his eight year long regime but subsequently he followed the same path of ruling class to perpetrate his rule. His flawed accountability process further encouraged corruption and nepotism.
The former military president was considered luckiest dictator as both popular party leaders were in exile and he had free choice to implement his policies and plans according to his will but his flawed enlightenened policy and consumer economy further strengthened hands of religious extremists groups and gave United States free hand to intervene in Pakistan affairs at macro and micro level.
Former US president Bush and his neo- cons and ruling elites have their own imperialist agenda in Asia in interdependence world to exploit resources of former states of Russia used religious extremism as a tool and continue its presence in Afghanistan.
But million dollar question for our ruling elites both civilian and military was how to cope with menace of religious extremists in the society which is spreading in four provinces in both rural and urban areas.
After departure of eight year military rule of Pervez Musharraf, PPP, PML (N), MQM and ANP and PML-Q came into power after 2008 elections but these political parties have not any road map to counter menace of religious extremism in the country.
The PPP, ANP and MQM which are considered secular political parties but their dilemma wasb that they are pitted against each other’s  and killing each other political workers but they don’t have viable and long term policy to contain religious extremist ideology and mindset.
The United State and other western powers are using religious extremism as a shield to intervene in their hostile states which are opposing US’s doctrine of neo-liberalism.
After end of Cold war era, United State unilaterally attacked Iraq, Libya but fails to seek long term solution of major conflict between Pakistan and India on Kashmir, Palestine issue and its dual and pragmatic policy to blindly support monarchies in Sheikh Kingdoms which are nurseries for violent brand of religious extremists.
Pakistan is a nuclear state and rich minerals resources but due to flawed polices of the ruling class consists on feudal class, clergy class, corrupt bourgaize class and corrupt and uncountable civilian and military bureaucracy always imposed policies which were beneficial for ruling elites and foreign powers only but they never paid any heed to their own people’ voice to curb religious extremists and other internal and external challenges faced by the state after new paradigm of  interdependence world order.
Problem with our ruling elites both civilian and military rulers is that they still believe in old paradigm of security of state and they  never plan and implement rational and long term policies to bring genuine reform in post colonial state and to protect lives of their own citizen and to run affairs of state as guaranteed  in the constitution.
Pakistan needs a paradigm shift in its foreign policy towards neighbors and super powers and in its internal policies to defeat violent brand of religious extremists and ethnic militants who are killing innocent people of their own country in pretext of religious extremists as well as fascist approach to hate and kill other ethnic people.
End.
